HTMLDocument::addTextarea(3) Adds a textarea

SYNOPSIS

ElementTree addTextarea( ElementTree parent, String name, String initialtext=createString(0), Int rows=5, Int cols=40 )

ARGUMENTS

parent The parent element

name The name of the textarea. Remember that names starting with "kaya_" may be used by the Kaya standard library and should not be used directly by applications.

initialtext The initial contents of the textarea, if any. Thisparameter is optional, with the empty string as a default.

rows The number of rows the fieldset has. This parameter may be omitted for a default of 5.

cols The number of columns the fieldset has. This parameter may be omitted for a default of 40. Note that there is no browser-independent relationship between the number of columns in a text area, and the size of a normal text input, so getting them to be consistently the same width is not possible.

DESCRIPTION

Adds a textarea to a form. Remember that textareas may not be added directly to the form - you need to add a block-level element such as fieldset to the form, and then add the textareas to that. Text areas are useful for entering large amounts of user input, or where the user input needs to contain new lines.
